Backup your Outlook Data
Below we describe one method for backing up and restoring your Outlook data, which involves exporting and importing.
To export your Outlook data
In Outlook
- Click on File > Import and Export
- Select Export to a file and click on Next.
- Select Comma Separated Values (Windows) and click on Next
- Select the appropriate Outlook folder (Calendar, Contacts or Tasks) and click on Next
- Enter a name and location for the file.
- Click on Finish to export the data.
Repeat the above steps for the remaining Outlook folders.
Restoring your Outlook data
In the event of a sync failure, you can restore your original Outlook data by following these steps.
In Outlook
- Click on File > Import and Export
- Select Import from another program or file and click on Next
- Select Comma Separated Values (Windows) and click on Next
- Locate the file you previously exported
- Click on Replace duplicates with items imported and click on Next
- Select the appropriate Outlook folder (Calendar, Contacts or Tasks) and click on Next
- Click on Finish to restore the data.
