Add an Event

Famundo has a number of pre-defined event types that are specific to your organization.

Click on Add Event from the Main Calendar menu.

Select a predefined event type or choose Other from the dropdown list.

The Schedule Event dialog will open.

Start at: Enter the date and time the event starts or click on the calendar icon to bring up a selectable calendar.

Famundo understands Natural Language so you can quickly and easily enter the date and time for an event as if you were to speak it.

Here are some examples of Natural Language entries:

To schedule an event for today at 5:00 PM, type in today@5p.

Other terms that can be used include:

Today, Tomorrow, Next Week, Next Month

Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

at or @

Times can be listed in 12 hour or 24 hour time.

Times without a AM/PM will be considered AM, eg. 8 = 8:00 AM

Time with a PM will be entered as PM, eg. 8PM = 8:00 PM

All Day: Check this box if you are scheduling an all day event.

Ends at: Enter the date and time the event ends or click on the calendar icon to bring up a selectable calendar.

Remind me: Check this box if you wish to have a reminder sent to you in the method you defined in the Personal Details window.

If this box is checked, a new field will open where you can specify when you want the reminder sent.

Event repeats: If this is a recurring event, select the frequency from the drop-down box.

See Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly for more information on recurring event options.

Schedule for: whose calendar will this appear on? You can select yourself, another user, multiple users or (the entire organization).

Driving time: you can select a time interval to allow for driving time to a destination.

Assigned driver: you can select a User as a driver. The event will also appear on the User’s calendar.

Description: enter a description of the event.

Location: enter the location of the event.

Edit access: determines who will be able to edit or delete an event.

Private (Assigned to Only): means that only you and any assigned contact will be able to edit or delete this event.

Administrators Only means that anyone with administrative rights will be able to edit or delete this event.

All Staff means that anyone on your staff (Administrators and Regular Users) will be able to edit or delete this event.

View access: determines who will be able to see the event, inside or outside your organization.

No One (Not Shared) means that no one from outside the organization will be able to view this event.

Administrators means that anyone with administrative rights will be able to view this event.

Members Only means that your members will be able to view this event, but it not be viewable by the general public.

Public means that this event will be viewable by anyone.

No event can have more open access than the calendar it is assigned to. For example, if you assign an event to a calendar with View access equal to Administrators, that event cannot have more open View access, such as Members Only or Public (Everyone).

Notes: enter any additional information about the event.

The Notes field supports RTF (Rich Text Formatting) which means that you can format text with bold, italics, colors and add hyperlinks.

To use RTF click on Switch to rich text.

To expand the Notes toolbar, click on the down arrow next on top of the “Notes” field.

The Notes toolbar will open.

Tags: you can assign a category to an event for quick future searches.

  • Type the tag you want to assign to the event.
  • Tags will “auto-complete”, so once you add a new tag it will appear the next time you start typing in that word in the Tag field.

Display on: select the organization calendar this event will appear on.

Attach Document: document that are stored in your Famundo document center can be linked to any event.

To link a document to an event, click on Attach Documents in the Add Event dialog.

The Attach Document dialog will open.

Browse and check the box next to the desired document.

Click OK to attach the document to the event.

The attached document will appear in the Documents area of the main calendar view when the event is visible in the visible calendar.

Click on Add to add the event.

You can create a calendar on the fly by clicking on the Add new calendar link.
